Mr. Pearson’s 40 + year career as a geologist has spanned an extensive series of roles varying from Resident Geologist with the Saskatchewan Geological Survey to that of an Exploration Executive with extensive experience in the generation, evaluation and execution of projects throughout Canada, United States Turkey, Greenland and South America. As Resident Geologist in northern Saskatchewan John carried out a program to document, map and sample the gold deposits of the Flin Flon Greenstone Belt. During a career with a major mining company, John’s role was to generate and execute exploration projects focussed on Volcanic Hosted Massive Sulphide Deposits, Magmatic Nickel – Copper – Platinum Group Elements (PGE) Deposits and Carbonate hosted and Sedex type lead/zinc deposit types. These responsibilities included early stage to advanced deposit delineation and evaluation. Additionally, he was responsible for the administration functions of the Exploration Group including staffing, training, budgeting, land tenure and program reviews for both the international and domestic exploration offices. As Vice President Exploration with Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. John’s role was to identify and evaluate Rare Earth Element Deposits and mineral occurrences on a global scale as well as to build a team to execute the evaluation of these deposits. He has also consulted to junior mining companies evaluating, executing and writing technical reports on projects focussed on PGE, iron ore, graphite and gold deposits.
