As Director of Workforce Development and a member of North Rim’s Management Team, Ms Shewfelt is a key contributor to the company’s success and sustainability. Debbie leads North Rim’s efforts to attract and secure qualified staff, develop this talent, and build a high-performance culture that motivates, supports and celebrates the success of every employee.
In addition to providing geological consulting work, Debbie oversees the design of various workforce and employee development programs, coaches and supports other NR Managers in the delivery of these programs, and hence positions North Rim as an employer of choice among geoscience and engineering professionals in Saskatchewan.
After attaining an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and a second degree in Anthropology at the University of Manitoba, Debbie continued her education at the University of Saskatchewan, where she attained a Master of Science degree in Geology. Her M.Sc. studies focused on hard-rock geology, as did the majority of her geological experience prior to joining the North Rim team. Debbie’s early experience was gained in academic, industry and government forums in gold, base metals and uranium exploration. Since joining the North Rim team, Debbie has consulted as a Senior Advisor to potash projects and was a contributing author of 43-101, Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility reports for potash exploration and development properties. She also manages uranium exploration and development projects.
Debbie Shewfelt is a Professional Geologist registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan, and holds Permission to Consult in potash, uranium and industrial minerals.
